We welcome the holding of the Presidential and Federal Parliamentary elections in Nigeria on 28-29 March 2015 in a peaceful environment. Nigeria has successfully passed an important trial in its quest towards democracy.

We commend the Nigerian Government, the political parties participating the elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security forces and the friendly and brotherly people of Nigeria for the maturity they demonstrated during the elections and for the maintenance of the peaceful and secure election environment.

We hope that the important second leg of the elections involving governorships and the state assemblies to be held on 11 April 2015 will take place in the same environment of peace and security and in the same mature manner.

On this occasion, we once again reaffirm our desire to enhance our relations with the friendly and brotherly Government and the people of Nigeria in every field in the forthcoming period, as we have done until now.
